Frequently asked questions
What is DWCUP?
DWCUP promotes democratic ideals, educates the electorate, and elects Democrats. We seek to involve women in the political process and to encourage and guide candidates as they focus on Democratic values in the State of Florida and across the nation..
How do I join?
You can join online in just a few minutes using our membership form. After signing up, you’ll receive a link to pay your dues via ActBlue, or you can bring a check to the next membership meeting (held every fourth Monday at noon at the SPC Library on Drew Street in Clearwater).
How much are dues?
Annual dues are $25, with discounts available for multi-year memberships. Dues help fund our programming, outreach, and support for Democratic candidates.
What does membership include?
Members receive access to our monthly meetings, volunteer opportunities, community events, and a network of engaged, like-minded women (and allies) working to make a difference locally and statewide.
Do I have to live in Pinellas County?
No. If you are a registered voter in Florida and a member of a Democratic Women’s Club in another county, you may join as an Associate member.
Do I have to be a registered Democrat?
Yes. Membership requires being a registered Democrat, in accordance with Democratic Women’s Club of Florida policy.
You do not need to be a member to attend our meetings—guests who support Democratic values and electing Democrats are always welcome to join us.
When and where are Membership Meetings held?
We typically meet on the fourth Monday of each month at the East Community Library at St. Petersburg College (2465 Drew St., Clearwater). Doors open at 11:30 AM for networking, and the meeting runs from 12:00–1:30 PM.
We also offer participation via Zoom to accommodate those who may not be able to attend in person—we recognize that noon is during the workday and want to encourage as much participation as possible.
Light snacks are available for a donation at the back of the room, and participants are encouraged to bring their own beverage.
(Occasionally, meeting dates shift due to holidays—please check our homepage for the most up-to-date schedule.)
How are dues and donations used?
Dues and donations support our local programming, community outreach, and efforts to elect Democrats at the local, state, and federal levels.
As part of the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida network, we also contribute to broader efforts that support Democratic candidates across Florida.
